To be honest, I didn’t think I would be writing this, but I believe it is important to think back on what I have said in the past. Two weeks ago, I performed a detox from Youtube for myself for about five days (see this link here for the full post), and it revealed some important things about how I was living my life. I relied too much on videos and music to keep me satiated long enough to enjoy myself, and that held me back from doing the things that I needed to in my daily life. After reading and thinking back on these past two weeks, I realized that none of the things I said were becoming true.

Since I ended the detox, I ended up going straight back to the videos. It was gradual at first, but eventually it was like I had never performed the detox in the first place. There were just too many videos I had missed out on, too much interesting things I could gleam from it that I couldn’t click away. I went straight back to listening to my normal music every day as well, with a few additions but not many. I once again lost the time I had gained from the detox. It was almost a complete reversion of what I felt was good.

Even while writing, I feel that I can’t help but look away at something else. So what does this do for me? Well, I feel that I need to change my stance on the situation, as there has to be another solution to what I feel is a problem. Since the standard was lost, all that I can really do is try to build back up to that standard. However, that is very difficult to do unless I were to fully detox from Youtube again. Instead, I need to take a step back and really look at my habits and what I can do to improve them.

Something that I will be incorporating daily is how I manage to get more done standing than while sitting. I’ve managed to get a lot more completed when I’m not comfortable and not letting myself fall into one of the habits. While I do not want to detox myself from Youtube, I do need to monitor my usage of it daily to regulate it to a level of correspondence to the amount of tasks I accomplish each day. With further additions as they come up, I’m hoping that the cycle of my day begins to revolve around my needs rather than my wants.
